Victor died on the 14th of March 2004. He had commited suicide, by hanging. Victor was very
depressed at the time and felt he could no longer carry on, as day by day he was getting worse.
Born in June 1919 in Rotherhithe he was one of four children. He meet his wife Rosetta when they
were both 14, they worked at the same papermill, Walktons. They married on the 21st January 1940,
and they have four children Victoria,Roger,David and Christine.During the war Vic (as he was
known)served in the RAF, after the war he joined D-Graveshort scale firm, and in 1949 he joined
Wedderburns Scale firm where he worked until he retired in 1984.Vic was a very friendly and outgoing
person who enjoyed socialising,he very much enjoyed family gatherings finding any excuse for a
party. He loved to cook and was well known for his sponge cakes. He was a member of the Royal
British Legion and The United Services Club.Vic was very well thought of by all who new him and
would help any one out if he could. Vic is sadly missed and loved every day by all his family.

I am a tiny angel
I'm smaller than your thumb
I live in peoples pockets
That's where I have my fun
I don't suppose you've seen me
I'm too tiny to detect
Though i'm with you all the time
I doubt we've ever met
Before I was an angel...
I was a fairy in a flower
God himself hand picked me
And gave me angel power
Now god has many angels
That he trains in angel pools
We become his eyes and ears and hands
We become his special tools
And because god is so busy
With way too much to do
He said that my assignment
Is to keep close watch on you
When he tucked me in your pocket
He blessed you with angel care
Then told me to never leave you
And I vowed always to be there

When angels sense you need them
and angels always do.....
they come unseen from everywhere
to help and comfort you
they hover close beside you
till all your cares are gone
till they can see you're ready
once again to carry on
Then some of them may fly away
and take their gentle touch
to other hearts that need
the love of angels very much
but one at least stays with you
as your constant friend and guide
for guardian angels never leave
they're always at your side

A Love to be taken was out of our control
The Lord came lovingly and took your soul
In came the silence as the angels crept
And raised you from where you silently slept
Quietly we whispered that we loved you
Until the point you were out of view
A final glimpse as the sparkle goes out
You will be loved there we have no doubt
We never wanted to lose someone so dear
God took your life but he left your love here.

I stood by your bed last night;
I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying you found it hard to sleep.
I spoke to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
'It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here.'
I was close to you at breakfast,
I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached to me.
I was with you at the shops today; your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.
I was with you at my grave today; you tend it with such care.
I want to re-assure you, that I'm not lying there.
I flew with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently landed on you; I smiled and said, 'it's me.'
You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair. I tried so hard to let you know, that I was there.
It's possible for me, to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, 'I never went away.'
You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.
The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning and say 'good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning.'
And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll fly across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.
I have so many things to show you,
there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...
then come home to be with me.
